Dell Children's Medical Group is looking for a Full Time Pediatric Infectious Disease Physician for our pediatric hospital.
This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Texas/Dell Children's Medical Group to provide medical services to patients.
Position Highlights:
- The Pediatric Infectious Disease Section at Dell Children's Medical Center is recruiting a full-time Pediatric Infectious Disease specialist with expertise in immunocompromised and transplant medicine. We are a busy and productive Pediatric Infectious Disease practice that includes 3 full time physicians, 1 part-time physician and 4 Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
- Dell Children's Medical Center is a pediatric acute care hospital with 220 beds including 30 in Level 4 NICU and 24 beds in CCU and PICU. We are also the only Level I pediatric trauma center in the Central Texas region and affiliated with The University of Austin Dell Medical School.

Responsibilities:
- Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.
- Provide clinical consultation on inpatient service, Infectious Disease clinic, and formulation of the immunocompromised Infectious Disease service in conjunction with Hematology Oncology, Renal, Cardiovascular, Gastroenterology programs
- Provide teaching rotations for Pediatric Residents/Medical Students from Dell Medical School as well as other institutions.
- Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills. Coordinates discharge planning with case management.
- Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
- Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
- Participates in DMS Department of Pediatrics and DCMG academic committees programs (e.g. medical education, administration and research) as requested.
