**Locums Hematology/Oncology Physician - Des Moines, IA**

**Coverage Need**
- Multiple locum providers needed
- Schedule: 5 clinic days per week, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
- Patient Contact Hours: 6 per day
- No procedure/OR days
- On-call dependent on number of locum/part-time providers
- Start Date: ASAP

**Position Details**
- Hospitalists serve as primary providers on the Oncology floor
- Locum physicians handle consults and emergency issues
- Medical Hematology/Oncology coverage for:
- 3 outpatient days per week at the primary clinic
- 2 outpatient days at a secondary clinic in West Des Moines (no transplants)
- Inpatient coverage for both sites, with APP support
- Outreach: Yes, 8 days/month
- Telehealth: Yes
- Supervision of APPs required
- Average daily hospital census:
- 10-15 at the primary clinic
- 5-8 at the secondary clinic
- Clinic provider daily volume: 10-30 patients
- Appointment length: 20 minutes
- EMR: AllScripts (transitioning to Epic in May 2025)

**Submission Requirements**
- Board Certified in Medical Oncology (Required)
- Board Certified in Hematology (Preferred)
- Fellowship trained in Medical Oncology/Hematology
- Active Iowa License Required

**Skill Requirements**
- Patient assessments, new and ongoing treatment plans
- Chemotherapy management, pain management
- End-of-life care, referral for ancillary services
- Radiation and surgical oncology managed by existing providers
