We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our team in Lafayette, IN. This is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality care to patients in a facility setting, working collaboratively with a skilled Cardiologist.
About the Role:
As a Nurse Practitioner in our Cardiology department, you will play a vital role in delivering comprehensive care to our patients. Your responsibilities will include:
- Rounding: Conducting daily rounds in assigned facilities, collaborating closely with the supervising Cardiologist.
- Patient Assessment & Management: Performing thorough patient assessments, including history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Treatment Planning & Implementation: Developing and implementing patient-centered treatment plans, managing chronic cardiac conditions, and addressing acute issues.
- Medication Management: Prescribing and managing medications according to established protocols and guidelines.
- Patient Education: Providing comprehensive patient education on cardiac conditions, medications, and lifestyle modifications.
- Collaboration: Working closely with the Cardiologist, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective patient care.
- Documentation: Maintaining accurate and timely patient records in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid and unrestricted Indiana Nurse Practitioner license.
- National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP).
- Experience in Cardiology preferred, but highly motivated new graduates with relevant clinical experience will be considered.
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR).
