Location: Pennsylvania
Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday 7 AM - 6 PM + night call | Weekend call 7 AM - 7 AM with rounding
We are seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Cardiothoracic Surgery team as a First Assist. This role is crucial to our surgical team, supporting both scheduled and emergency cases.
Key Responsibilities- First Assist in CABG, Thoracic, AVR, TAVR, and Aortic cases
- Endoscopic vein harvesting
- Participate in scheduled surgical cases & on-call rotations
- Round on hospitalized patients and collaborate with the care team
- Work independently while maintaining excellent communication with surgeons
- Board Certified NP or PA
- Active Pennsylvania State License (Required)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery
- Proficiency in endoscopic vein harvesting
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPR
- DEA license required
- Level II Trauma Center with advanced surgical facilities
- Full Privileges & Temporary Privileges Available
- EMR: Cerner & Epic
- Collaborative Team: Two floor APPs and two surgical APPs typically on-site
