Position Summary
This is a licensed, 61-bed, not-for-profit community hospital located in southeastern Vermont, serving a rural population of about 55,000 people across multiple states. The medical staff includes over 130 board-certified providers in primary care and various specialties, all dedicated to delivering exceptional health care with compassion and respect. The hospital's health system encompasses a multispecialty group practice of primary care and specialty care physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. A robust team of active volunteers supports the hospital's staff in serving the community.

The Nocturnist will be responsible for 12-14 twelve-hour shifts per month, managing an average of 2-6 admissions each night and overseeing an open intermediate care/step-down unit that includes temporary ventilation management. The position offers specialty backup, including surgeons for central line insertions, respiratory therapists, emergency medicine physicians, and CRNAs. The hospital is open to considering J1-Visa candidates.

Qualifications

Education:
Board-certified preferred; board-eligible and recent graduates will be considered.

Experience/Skill Sets:
2-3 years of experience as a Hospitalist or Nocturnist.
Experience in rural health preferred, but not required.
Vent management experience is required.
Experience in running codes.

Licensure/Certifications:
Vermont license preferred, but the hospital will consider candidates who are in the process of obtaining licensure.
Vermont DEA.
BLS and ACLS certification required.
