Job Description

**Direct Patient Care Provider - NP opening in OR**
**Located in Prineville, 36m to Bend**
**Full Time Employment**

This position provides direct patient care in accordance with established clinic protocols, with services rendered in both clinic and hospital settings when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

Direct Patient Care:
Provide primary care within outpatient and, in certain cases, inpatient settings.
Examine, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions.
Develop treatment plans and manage patient health issues following established clinic protocols.
Advocate for patients by coordinating the use of the healthcare system and referring to specialty providers as needed.
Serve as the "provider of the day" and provide after-hours call coverage as required by clinic policies.
Collaborate with the clinical team to optimize patient care access.

Standards of Practice:
Utilize current evidence-based guidelines to create diagnostic and treatment plans using resources like Up to Date or Choosing Wisely.
Deliver care that reflects cost-consciousness and addresses social determinants of health.
Employ a team-based care model, leveraging the expertise of all multidisciplinary team members.
Proactively address preventive health issues.
Educate patients using various tools (e.g., EHR, online resources, written materials) regarding diagnoses, treatment options, disease prevention, safe health behaviors, self-care skills, and health promotion.

Documentation and Indirect Patient Care:
Maintain accurate electronic health records and complete documentation in a timely manner.
Reflect critical thinking in documentation practices.
Review and address incoming results/reports (e.g., lab, x-ray, EKG) and patient communications promptly.
Accurately code patient charts for correct billing.
Utilize EHR tools to enable effective patient care by the clinical team.

Qualifications:
Education: Master's degree or higher in Nursing.
Experience: Preferred two years of relevant work experience, particularly in Family Practice and team-based care.
Licenses & Certifications: Preferred Medical Doctor, Doctor of Osteopathy, or Family Nurse Practitioner.

Skills & Knowledge:
Experience working with low-income populations preferred.
Proficient computer skills, including typing and keyboarding.
Knowledge of health insurance plans preferred.
Ability to train and teach staff required.
Familiarity with standard office policies and procedures preferred.
Understanding of regulatory requirements, including CLIA and OSHA standards, preferred.
Proficiency with practice management software required.
Hospital privileges may be necessary.
