Addiction Medicine Physician opening in Marin County, CA (Permanent)
20 miles to downtown San Francisco, CA
Salary Range: $225k - $270k/year
Signing Bonus: $100k - $120k available for select applicants (specific program terms apply)

Position Overview:
The Lead Addiction Medicine Physician ensures access to evidence-based, interdisciplinary care for substance use disorder patients. This role is divided between providing direct primary care and serving as a SUD provider leader, developing policies, training, and clinical support to facilitate high-quality addiction treatment.
Responsibilities:
Addiction Leadership (0.3 clinical FTE, 0.2 administrative FTE)
Functions as the medical lead on an interdisciplinary SUD treatment team.
Develops and implements standardized policies and procedures for evidence-based SUD care.
Advises on the development of universal SUD screening practices and follow-up workflows (SBIRT).
Leads clinician training and supports adoption of appropriate medications and protocols for addiction treatment.
Provides clinical consultation on SUD management, including medication-assisted treatment.
Develops data monitoring systems for incidence and treatment of SUD and safe prescribing practices.
Contributes to risk management related to SUD treatment.
Represents the clinic at local, County, and State meetings regarding SUD care.
Primary Care Provider (0.5 clinical FTE)
Provides direct patient care, including examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment.
Prescribes medications and treatment regimens as appropriate.
Refers patients to specialists and relevant patient care components.
Maintains accurate electronic medical records (EMR) with documentation within 72 hours of visits.
Participates in 4-hour Saturday shifts (minimum of 3 per year) and responds to after-hour calls for 2 weeks annually.
Performs other related tasks to meet clinic objectives.
Requirements:
Valid and unrestricted license issued by the Medical Board of California.
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Addiction Medicine or relevant specialty.
3-5 years of primary care experience (may include residency).
Current DEA registration for prescribing medication.
Minimum of 3 years of addiction medicine experience or completion of an addiction medicine fellowship.
BLS CPR Certification.
Spanish-speaking preferred, but not required.
Experience with EPIC EHR desired but not required.
Skills and Abilities:
Effective communication skills in English.
Ability to lead, advise, and train clinical professionals.
Knowledge of relevant drugs and non-pharmaceutical care aids.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
Expertise in Medication Assisted Treatment for SUD.
Familiarity with Federal, State, and Local regulations related to SUD care.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged standing, walking, and sitting at a desk.
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
Must pass a post-employment physical examination and medical history check.
