**Med-Peds Hospitalist opening in Minnesota**
Located in Mankato, MN
80 miles from Minneapolis, MN
FULL TIME

Responsibilities

Adult Hospitalist Duties/requirements:
- Options for days only and Nocturnist only
- 12-15 patients on average
- Closed ICU
- 141 adult acute beds (this does not include BH or OB or SCN beds)

Pediatric Hospitalist Duties/Requirements:
- Work both independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team to assess, diagnose, manage, and evaluate the health care needs of neonates, infants, and children
- Care for patients affected by prematurity, respiratory distress, infectious diseases, congenital heart disease, and/or other anomalies
- Clinical responsibilities include attendance at deliveries (including high-risk), resuscitation of newborns, care of healthy newborns, day-to-day management of babies in the Level II Nursery, and care of hospitalized children
- Procedures performed include circumcisions, umbilical central lines, lumbar punctures, frenulectomies, intubations, and emergent needle decompression of pneumothorax

Collaborative/Supportive Partnerships:
- The Mankato pediatric inpatient team is composed of pediatric hospitalists and advanced practice providers (APPs)
- The APPs assist with care of normal newborns
- Pediatric subspecialists in Rochester provide a ready source of support and consultation
- Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant support
- Dedicated Social Work support and Lactation Consultant support
- The Electronic Delivery Room platform (eDR) provides immediate electronic connectivity to Rochester neonatologists 24/7 via remote video guidance
- This position is solely inpatient. Hospitalists stay in-house

Qualifications
- Must have M.D., D.O., or foreign degree equivalent
- Must be eligible for Minnesota medical license
- Must be Board Certification/Board Eligible in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics or in final year of ACGME accredited program leading to certification
